MINT HILL, N.C. — Two Mint Hill officers were shot, and one man, the suspect, is dead after a shooting at a Mint Hill shopping center Friday morning.
It happened just before 11 a.m. at the Edible Arrangements in Mint Hill Commons, according to the Mint Hill Police Department.
Several officers, evidence markers and crime scene tape were seen outside the shopping center along Matthews-Mint Hill Road.
Police say the incident began with a child custody exchange.
During the interaction, police say the suspect pulled out a gun and an exchange of gunfire occurred.
The two officers that were shot are in critical condition.
