CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Hornets player Kemba Walker is leaving Charlotte for Boston, which affects local Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas.

Walker helped out the program over the last couple of years by mentoring four students and talking about issues in their lives.
“He wasn't just the athlete who brought them to the game, he was holding them accountable for school grades for being good people, giving back to the community,” said Hane Tarris, who is the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas Board of Directors chairman.
Walker said he is the students’ mentor for life and will stay in touch with them.
