How would a $4 billion Silver Line get funding?

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Mecklenburg County voters said “No” Tuesday to a sales tax increase for the arts, but would they be willing to pay more for another light rail?

“I use it to go to work,” said Stephanie Rodriguez, who rides the Lynx Blue Line light rail. “Finding parking uptown is difficult and I don’t want to pay $21.

Riders in Charlotte have been using the Blue Line for 12 years.

A Lynx Silver Line would take riders from uptown out to the airport and into Belmont or down to Matthews.

The obstacle is that it would cost $4 billion.
