CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Winston-Salem is among the 25 most affordable housing markets in the U.S., according to the latest Housing Affordability Index report from online real estate website RealtyHop.

Winston-Salem ranks No. 23 among the 100 largest cities in the U.S., the June report says. The average home price is $185,000, and the average mortgage is $914 a month, according to the report.
