LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — Justin Scott Taylor, a 36-year-old from Lincolnton, NC, was arrested in Georgia on January 31, 2025, after being identified as a fentanyl dealer in Lincoln County.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office narcotics unit had been investigating Taylor since early December 2024, after receiving information about his involvement in fentanyl distribution. During the investigation, narcotics officers purchased fentanyl from Taylor on four separate occasions.
After learning he was under investigation, Taylor fled North Carolina. Georgia authorities later apprehended him and contacted the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
Taylor waived extradition and was returned to Lincoln County by narcotics officers. Taylor is currently held at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $120,000 secured bond.
He faces multiple charges, including four counts of selling and delivering fentanyl, four counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver fentanyl, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
