Raleigh Convention Center reopens after kitchen fire

RALEIGH — The Raleigh Convention Center will reopen Tuesday for its first event since a fire on the roof.

Crews said the fire started in the convention center’s kitchen last month, which was caused all this damage last month.

That kitchen is still being repaired, but a mobile one is up and running in the meantime.

Reopening the center this week saves the facility about $4 million in revenue.
