SALISBURY, N.C. — The Salisbury Police Department has drastically lowered violent crimes, and officials hope a $500,000 federal grant will help further reduce crime.

“We began to focus our efforts on what our data was showing us," Salisbury Police Chief Jerry Stokes said.
The Police Department partnered with the Department of Justice in 2017 to help curb the violence.
