CHESTER, S.C. — A South Carolina man with three drunken driving convictions is facing the impact of a head-on crash that left three people dead in Chester County.

Joseph Dewayne Knox, 42, this week was in court to face the families of those who died in the crash. Knox could be sentenced to as much as 75 years in prison if convicted of three counts of DUI resulting in death.
Knox is free on bond. No trial date has been set.

Knox was the only survivor of the October crash. He appeared in court on crutches, wearing a leg brace and an ankle monitor. The passenger in his vehicle and two people in the other vehicle died in the wreck.
