CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte area was abound with several new restaurant options before the curtain fell on 2018.

The lineup of new local eateries to open in December includes the Crunkleton Charlotte — a new cocktail bar with full kitchen that debuted in the city’s Elizabeth neighborhood — as well as a fast-casual sushi concept in uptown, an Italian restaurant offering authentic fare at an affordable price on Morehead Street and a new barbecue joint that appeared on the Food Network for Fort Mill.

And more is on the way in the new year.

Take Peppervine, for instance. Chef Bill Greene, who is behind popular Banner Elk restaurant Artisanal, is bringing a new upscale concept — called Peppervine — to SouthPark. It’s supposed to open in January.

There’s also a new gourmet grab-and-go concept headed to uptown’s Overstreet Mall and set to open shortly after the first of the year.

January's edition of Restaurant Bites has the full roundup of recent restaurant-related news as reported by CBJ staffers last month.
