RALEIGH, N.C. — The owners of a Raleigh wedding photography company will have to pay a nearly $1.7 million settlement for failing to deliver photos and video to customers.
A Wake County judge granted a default judgement in a lawsuit against Holly Christina Photography on Monday, The News and Observer reported.
Attorney General Jeff Jackson filed the suit in February, after receiving more than 220 consumer complaints from couples who say they never got pictures or videos they were promised.
According to the motion, $600,000 will go to customer refunds, and over $1 million in civil penalties will go to the state. Owners Holly and Christopher Ayscue will no longer be allowed to offer photography services and must deliver all pictures and videos consumers paid for within 30 days.
Channel 9 has investigated the company for months. Multiple couples told Action 9 attorney Jason Stoogenke they didn’t get what they paid for.
